‘Talaash: The Answer Lies Within’ is a 2012 crime thriller written and directed by Reema Kagti, co-written by Zoya Akhtar. The film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in the lead with Nawazuddin Siddiwui, Rajkummar Rao and Shernaz Patel in supporting roles.

‘Talaash’ was received positively by critics and audiences and grossed over Rs. 174. 21 cr worldwide becoming one othe highest-grossing Indian films in 2012.

‘Badla’ is a mystery thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh starring Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Panny, Amrita Singh. A remake of the 2016 Spanish film ‘The Invisible Guest’, ‘Badla’ is a story about a lawyer and a businesswoman and a murder mystery.

‘Badla’ was a major commercial success and also received positive reviews from critics.

‘Dirshyam’ is a Hindi crime-thriller, a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film of the same name. It stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran in the lead. The film was appreciated by critics and audiences alike. ‘Drishyam’ collected Rs. 111 cr worldwide.

Not so old, this Kareena Kapoor starrer is a mystery thriller written and directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film is an adaptation of the 2005 Japandes novel ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’ by Keigo Higashino. ‘Jaane Jaan’ broke the record for the biggest opening weekedn viewership for an Indian film on Neftlix and emerged as the years most-viewed Indian film on Netflix in terms of global viewing hours.

Teesri Manzil ( 7.5/10, Rotten Tomatoes: 62%)

‘Teesri Manzil’ is a 1966 musical mystery directed by Vijay Anand. Starring Shammi Kapoor and Asha Parekh, this film was a box office hit and among the first to skyrocket RD Burman’s career. The film is also ranked on several polls for its memorable lead pair chemistry, superb mystery element and Shammi Kapoor’s performance.

Kaun( IMDb rating: 7.8%, Rotten Tomatoes: 77%)

‘Kaun’ is a psychological suspense thriller directed by Ram Gopal Varma, written by Anurag Kashyap. The film stars Urmila Matondkar, Manoj Bajpayee and Sushant Singh. The film was shot in just 15 days.

Over the years, ‘Kaun’ has acquired cult status.

Gupt( IMDb rating: 7.3, Rotten Tomatoes: 67%)

‘Gupt’ is a pyschological thriller directed by Rajiv Rai starring Bobby Deol, Manisha Koirala and Kajol in the lead. This rather one-of-kind Bollywood murder mystery brought a wave of fresh air in Bollywood in the late 90s. ‘Gupt’ is often considered among the best thrillers from Hindi cinema.
