Dhirajlal Shah, Producer of The Hero Love Story ofA Spy, Passes Away At Mumbai Hospital

New Delhi: Bollywood producer Dhirajlal Shah passed away early on Monday morning. Dhirajlal’s brother Hasmukh acknowledged that he had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Mumbai, according toa TOI report.

“He had Covid, post that he developed an issue with his lungs. His health deteriorated in the last 20 days and we had to admit him to the ICU. His kidney and heart were affected, which resulted in multi-organ failure.” The report quoted Hasmukh as saying.

“He was not only a good producer but a very lovely soul. He had created a video world which was revolutionary in a way. We will miss him.” Producer Harish Sughand said that Dhirajlal “bought the video rights of Shahenshah after which his life changed and he became the video king. He had the rights of almost all films,” TOI quoted Anil Sharma.

The Indian Film TV Producers Council posted a picture of Dhirajlal on X, which was once Twitter. With a caption, it posted,“Deeply Saddening News Owner of Apna Cinema & Time Video Mr Dhirajlal Nanji Shah Ji has passed away. Deepest condolences to the family and loved ones. Om Shanti.”

The ‘Hero: Love Story of a Spy’, directed by Anil Sharma and starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, and Priyanka Chopra, was produced by Dhirajlal in 2003. ‘Krishna’ (1996) was produced in part by Shah. 

Karisma Kapoor and Suniel Shetty appeared in the movie. Additionally, he produced Gambler (1995), which featured Aditya Pancholi, Govinda, and Shilpa Shetty. Additionally, he produced ‘Vijaypath’ (1994), which starred Danny Denzongpa, Tabu, and Ajay Devgn.

Manju Dhiraj Shah, his wife, two daughters, Shital Punit Goel and Sapna Dhiraj Shah, a son, Jimit Shah, and a daughter-in-law, Poonam Shah, survive him.
