Akshay Kumar aanounces new release date of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

Akshay posted a video with the caption, “Bade aur Chote aur poori Bade Miyan Chote Miyan ki team ki taraf se aap sab ko advance mein Eid Mubarak.
Dekhiye #BadeMiyanChoteMiyan on Eid with your entire family, now releasing on 11th April only in cinemas.”

Interestingly, Akshay’s announcement came shortly after the makers of Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan also decided to shift their film’s release date from April 10 to April 11.

Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan release date also shifted

Ajay Devgn shared a new poster of Maidaan on his Instagram handle, stating, “Mark your calendars! #Maidaan release across cinemas in India on 10th April, with special previews starting 6pm onwards. Full scale release to follow on the Eid holiday on 11th April. Reserve your seats now! (Link in bio).” The poster also features the words, “Paid previews start Wednesday 10th April from 6 pm. Maidaan in cinemas Thursday 11th April.”

Maidaan delves into the golden era of Indian football during the 1950s and 60s under the guidance of coach Syed Abdul Rahim. In the film directed by Amit Sharma, Ajay portrays the role of the coach.

In a recent interaction with news agency PTI, Amit Sharma shared his experience of working with Ajay, calling him a director’s actor. Reacting to social media users drawing similarities between Maidaan and Shah Rukh Khan led Chak De! India, Sharma said, “The difference between ‘Chak De! India’ and ‘Maidaan’ is that while it was a fictional story, this is a true story. If you talk about the dream of a man who is trying to bring glory to India through sports, that emotion is the same. But everyone will have the same emotion, it is there in ’83’ as well.”

“The emotion is same, but the story and style are different. This story is different from ‘Chak De! India’ because the sports are different, however emotion wise it is the same, but the emotional journey of this person is different, the story is different.”
