Raayan Box Office Collection: ‘Raayan’, an action-thriller film, is helmed by actor Dhanush. It has made over Rs 12 crore on Friday, according to Sacnilk.com. Kalanithi Maran, under the production name of Sun Pictures, has backed the Tamil film.
As on early estimates, ‘Raayan’ made Rs 12.5 crore [Rs 11 crore in Tamil and Rs 1.5 crore in Telugu] nett in India on Friday, the first day of the film’s release across all languages. On Friday, Raayan’s Tamil occupancy rate was 58.65% overall.

The ABP review of the film read: Dhanush’s ambition to create an action-packed 50th film deserves applause. His ability to craft a believable storyline and develop authentic characters is reminiscent of Vetrimaaran’s influence in Vada Chennai. The first half is well-paced, building up to a gripping interval block. Interestingly, it is Dushara who steals the show in the second half, showcasing a depth of character that rivals Dhanush’s performance. Dhanush explores the relationship between Raayan and Durga through a fresh lens, drawing parallels to the mythological bond between Ravana and Shurpanakha.

‘Raayan’, which is written by Dhanush, also features the actor. It premiered in theatres on Friday. This is Dhanush’s 50th feature film and his second attempt as a filmmaker. The remaining cast members of Raayan include SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Saravanan.
Dhanush was last seen in the film 2023 ‘Captain Miller’. The movie was released on Amazon Prime Video and did well at the box office. He will soon be seen in the Sekhar Kammula-directed multilingual film ‘Kubera’, which also stars Jim Sarbh, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nagarjuna. Rashmika Mandanna’s first look from the movie was also recently revealed.
